World Trade Centre Photo Gallery

I'm writing to you from Greta Donaldson Publicity in Melbourne where we handle PR for the WTC Wharf, which is part of the WTC (World Trade Centre) complex on the Northbank of the Yarra. The WTC Wharf has a gallery space, and I am currently looking into potential exhibitions for 2010 which are of relevance and interest to the general Melbourne and Victorian public.

I came across your contact details through several of the community websites for areas affected by the Black Saturday Bushfires, and wondered if you might know of any community groups or photographers I could approach who might have photographs documenting the bushfire recovery and reconstruction process? We (the WTC Wharf and Greta Donaldson Publicity) would like to approach these groups and/or individuals to see if they might be interested in holding an exhibition of their works at the WTC gallery space.

The gallery space would be made available free of charge, and the WTC Wharf would also cover the cost of installing / hanging the photography work as well as organising a launch event, which Greta Donaldson Publicity would handle the PR for. The gallery can hold up to 30 hanging works, with most exhibitions remaining up for a month. We would be very open to working with groups/individuals to raise funds for the bushfire recovery process with the profits of works sold.

I have included images below (contact sarah AT gdpublicity.com.au if you want to see pictures) taken at the launch of a past exhibition to give you an idea of the space. Please don't hesitate to let me know whether you'd like to receive any further info. I would be very grateful of any leads you might be able to provide as we'd love to work with community groups to bring their documentation of the bushfire recovery process to the wider public.

Best regards,

Sarah Thompson
