I hope everyone enjoyed the Bonfire & BBQ in June.  As usual, it was very cold but warm clothes and the bonfire kept us all pretty comfortable.  It was good to see so many people there, especially the children who had a great time toasting marshmallows.  Winners in the raffle were: Theresa & Vince Carlin (1st & 4th Prizes),

Alex (2nd prize), Amber (3rd prize).  Thanks to all those who donated prizes.

I would like to say a special thank you to Jeff, Andy and their helpers, from Kilmore Men's Shed.  The men have very kindly partitioned off our storage area and done a repair to the ceiling.  The interior of the Hall looks so much better - so A BIG THANK YOU.

The Committee of Management held their quarterly meeting on June 10th.  We are pleased to welcome Kris Faltis  as a Committee member.  Kris will be continuing her role as local co-ordinator of Bushfire Recovery Meetings with help from the Hall Committee.

We have applied for a number of Grants through Mitchell Shire including funding for an Australia Day Breakfast, a local newsletter to help residents (in particular those who have had to relocate) keep in touch,  an exciting art project which involves mural painting on the water tank and toilets.  This project involves a history component as well as a bushfire-themed component which will be designed and painted by Upper Plenty Primary School students.  We will know if we are successful by early August and will let you know in the next What's News.

We are also planning to apply for a Local History Grant later in the year to improve and expand the history display in the Hall.
