Beyond the Bushfires - Call for Stories

Rural Women's  Network

The Rural Women's Network, an initiative of the Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development, is looking for inspiring, empowering and informative stories of beyond the bushfires from a woman's perspective.

The Rural Women's Network would like to capture the stories emerging of the extraordinary contributions that women are making to the rebuilding of the Victorian bushfire affected communities.....leading the way beyond the bushfires

They are looking for stories, poems and photos, in particular, women living and working in the fire-affected areas including Beechworth, Bendigo, Churchill, Horsham, Kinglake, Kilmore, Labertouche, and the areas in and around Marysville and Strathewen/St Andrews and Wilson's Prom. They are also interested in hearing from other rural and metropolitan women who are involved in bushfire recovery.

As it is truly a women's community publication, writers with all levels of skills and experience are encouraged to send their submissions.

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday 15th July, 2009 - for more details, please download the Flyer.
